For the month of April, our Assistant Head Sommelier Jane Mulholland has chosen a very special wine to welcome spring, Dessimis Pinot Grigio Rosé 2016.
In Jane’s own words: “This wine may be the most premium rosé on our list, but it is well worth the money! A rosé with very pale colour but lots of flavours; notes of white peach and raspberry, with a rich and creamy texture.
This wine in Italian is known as a ‘ramato’ (copper), where the light orange and pink hues are derived from skin contact during winemaking. This process adds unique flavours, aromas and body to the wine.
I’d recommend to pair this to our scallops starter of lobster main for two. The richness of this wine will also stand up to some meat dishes. If you like white Burgundy, definitely give this a go!”
